Amazon Thunder FAQ

What is acai?

Acai (ah-sigh-EE) is the high-energy berry that grows on a special palm tree found in the Amazon. Harvested in the rainforests of Brazil, acai tastes like a vibrant blend of berries and chocolate. Hidden within its royal purple pigment is the magic that makes it nature's perfect energy fruit. Acai is packed full of antioxidants, amino acids, and essential fatty acids.

Why buy Amazon Thunder™ acai?

Everything we create is certified organic or made from organic ingredients and is manufactured in quality controlled USDA organic certified facilities. This is to ensure only the freshest and highest quality acai products.

Amazon Thunder™ products have no added sugar. Acai may help as an anti-inflammatory1 and antioxidant1-2 so, we chose not  to add sugar because sugar has been know to cause inflammation10. Also, unlike many acai distributors, we do not add caffeine to our acai.

Amazon Thunder™ contains:

  1. Essential Fatty Acids, Omegas 3, 6, and 9: These are the "good" fats of the human body and are very important to our health. These are considered "essential" because the human body does not manufacture large quantities of them despite the fact that these substances are involved in the vital functions of the body, especially in building the structure of cell membranes and in the synthesis of prostaglandin, lecithin, and melanin. These essential fatty acids play an important role in maintaining low levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, in stabilizing the heart's rhythm, in cleaning the arteries, and in normalizing arterial pressure. They regulate the hormone prostaglandin, which helps the body in cleansing the walls of the blood vessels and in diminishing the formation of blood clots. Some scientists do not consider Omega 9 as essential because the body can produce it in small quantities; either way, it's associated with the reduction of arterioscleroses and in the reduction of insulin resistance, which helps balance glucose levels. Essential Fatty Acids improve the immune system.1
  2. Anthocyanins and Polyphenols (Antioxidants): These antioxidants are substances that protect cells from oxidation caused by "free radical" molecules.7 These chemical products can damage the body by splitting important cells, including proteins, damaging membranes, and creating mutations in DNA. Cell deterioration caused by free radicals is a cause in the development of cancer; in the loss of mental capacity and memory; the development of degenerative illnesses; and in premature aging.

According to a study by the Departmet of Food Science and Human Nutrition3, “acai pulp was found to have a relatively high antioxidant content with respect to other anthocyanin-rich fruits such as highbush blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, and muscadine grape juice."

The acai berry's high concentrations of antioxidant polyphenolics, which comes primarily from anthocyanin, provide it with excellent potential as a functional food ingredient.4-6

The public is highly aware of the term “antioxidant”, which has been defined as follows by the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences: “a substance in foods that significantly decreases the adverse effects of reactive species, such as reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, on normal physiologic function in humans.”

The findings in one study may have significant value as to [acai’s] antioxidant role in aging and disease.1
  3. Essential Amino Acid: These amino acids help with muscle regeneration, providing strength and resistance.
  4. Sterols (beta-sitosterol): These phytosterols have very special properties. Their formula is very similar to that of cholesterol, allowing them to mask cholesterol. By doing so, the body doesn't absorb this cholesterol. For many years sterols have been used for lowering the levels of cholesterol in the blood and for problems of the prostate, for balancing blood sugar levels, and for helping to control type II diabetes (caused by aging). Also anti-mutagenic effects and the ability to help fortify the immune system have been reported.1
  5. Vitamins A and C: These are antioxidant vitamins found in nature. They fortify the immune system, the skin, the eyes, and assist with the formation of red blood cells. The absence of Vitamin A produces blurry vision, bad nails, dry skin, and hair loss. The absence of Vitamin C diminishes our defenses, causes premature wrinkles to appear, delays healing of injuries, and can lead to inflammation, bloody sore,s and a general abatement. If you suffer from one of these symptoms, it may be that you're not getting enough of one or both of these vitamins.

"Edible berries, a potential source of natural anthocyanin antioxidants, have demonstrated a broad spectrum of biomedical functions. These include cardiovascular disorders, advancing age-induced oxidative stress, inflammatory responses, and diverse degenerative diseases. Berry anthocyanins also improve neuronal and cognitive brain functions, ocular health as well as protect genomic DNA integrity."8

"Acai's health benefits are astounding, and scientists are touting the fruits high level of proteins, fiber, vitamin E, minerals, and important essential fatty acids. Acai's antioxidant concentration surpasses even blueberries, and it is also a valuable, natural cholesterol controller. Additional studies on Acai have also discovered that it builds the immune system, fights infection, protects the heart, and can control prostate enlargement."9

In 1992, the ORAC, short for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, test was developed by Dr. Guohua Cao, a chemist and physician at the National Institute on Aging in Baltimore, Maryland. This test tube analysis  measures the total antioxidant power of foods and other chemical substances. Early findings suggest that eating plenty of high-ORAC fruits and vegetables such as spinach and blueberries may help slow the processes associated with aging in both body and brain. According to Suzanne Dixon (MPH, MS, RD), ORAC is just a fancy way of asking, "How well does a certain food help my body fight diseases like cancer and heart disease?"

What is a normal ORAC unit amount for daily consumption?

The average person needs to consume a minimum of 1670 ORAC units per day. To put this in perspective, 80% - 90% of people do not consume even half of the daily recommended ORAC units. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), researchers in healthy eating at Tufts University have found that in order to provide meaningful antioxidant health benefits in a nutritional supplement, a person needs to take in at least 2400 to 3000 ORAC units a day.

According to recent studies, an average human being consumes 1000 ORAC units daily; as you can see, we are consuming considerably less ORAC units than we should be. This has led to an increase in degenerative illnesses (cancer, arthritis, loss of the memory, etc.) in the last several decades. With Amazon Thunder Acai, you're getting 20,000 total ORAC units per fluid ounce!

Did you know that our Acai berry supplement is an excellent source of Omega 3,6, and 9 healthy fatty acids along with Vitamins A, B, B1, B2, B3, C, and E?

It has an 18000+ ORAC score per fluid oz!

The importance of NO flow agents, additives, or fillers! Buyer beware of any supplement capsule or tablet containing magnesium stearate, silica, stearic acid, or calcium stearate. These are flow agents that are made by hydrogenating cottonseed or palm oil. They are used throughout the supplements industry as lubricants to speed up production. They accumulate in the body and will decrease absorption by as much as 75%. They have no value! These flow agents also contain high amounts of pesticides and herbicides. Stearic acid, which makes up for more than half of the mass in magnesium stearate, has been found in in-vitro lab studies to inhibit T-cell function. Magnesium stearate has been found to cause allergic symptomology in certain individuals.

NO claims can be made that any Amazon Thunder product will provide any health benefit. All we can say is that they may help. Due to strict FDA regulation, we cannot guarantee any results from using any all natural holistic herbs and/or supplements.

Stop HARMING your body and wasting your hard earned money with non-organic certified supplements, vitamins, and herbs! They are loaded with additives, herbicides, pesticides, preservatives, and other chemicals. Our liquid is packaged in GLASS BOTTLES that DO NOT leech like ALL plastic juice bottles do. Others CANNOT offer what our audited organic supplements brands can! Think about it logically! Why would you even think of detoxing or supplementing your body with anything NOT organic certified and not made from the purest of the pure? Why throw your money away with these worthless supplements offered by these mass producing bottom line "margin is everything" companies and risk long term health issues and a TON of wasted hard earned dollars? This is not logical.

Additives like Magnesium stearate and Silica are known to actually inhibit T-Cell function, while preservatives like sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are known carcinogens. Even so, many companies producing certified organic supplements still add in these fillers and other agents! Be sure to review the ingredients list BEFORE you buy. Don't just let them tell you their products are organic. Get them to produce their certification! If their finished product is NOT certified by a top certifier, THEY ARE NOT ORGANIC! "Made with organic ingredients" does not cut it, either. Anyone can say that. Where was it packaged? Where is the certification for the ingredient supplies? Does it match lot numbers? There are very strict procedures one has to follow before any certifier will even consider saying something is organic certified.

Amazon Thunder's full line up is CERTIFIED ORGANIC and is one of THE PUREST! ABSOLUTELY NO PRESERVATIVES, ADDITIVES, OR FILLERS! We are one of only a HANDFUL in the world that offers 100% organic wholeness and purity of product. We are truly unparalleled.
