Fancy fruit smoothies that promise energy, nutrients, and immunity (from a cold, not prosecution) have been taking up more and more space in the refrigerator case. The latest überfruit to be featured is the acai berry (pronounced ah-sigh-EE), which reportedly has 30 times the antioxidants of red wine (without the buzz), plus some fiber and a nice combo of essential fatty and amino acids. The berry grows at the top of tall palms in the Amazon rainforest and is about 98 percent seed. The only way to export it is to pulp it and freeze it within 24 hours of picking.  The latest addition is Amazon Superfood, which Amazon Thunder claims packs more energy than Red Bull!
