The
History of the Acai Berry
Acai
has been prized for hundreds of years by Brazilian natives
for their ability to provide a sense of strength, energy,
and a high nutritional content. Acai berries hang from
branches in clusters that look like groups of bluebottles.
Traditionally the acai berries were picked by hand. The
tribe's men would shimmy up the tree, which stood as tall as
82 feet, and cut the branches from the top of the palm tree.
Acai
Berries are considered to be one of the most nutritious
fruits of the Amazon Rain Forest. The Amazon native people
have been consuming the berries for hundreds, maybe even
thousands of years.
